Online resources and links
There are many resources for runners now available on the web. Here's a list of some of the sites available, if you know of any that you use and would like mentioned here just drop us an email at the usual website address or via the Contact Us page and we'll add it here.
Elvet Striders on Facebook and Twitter
The club has a Facebook Group, a Facebook Page and a Twitter Page. The group is a discussion group for Elvet Striders and friends. The Facebook and Twitter pages are for news about the website updates.
Online running resources
There are many online resources for runners including social networking sites, training logs, race directories. Some of these require some sort of registration, usually free though some offer enhanced membership facilities at cost.
Perhaps the largest social networking site for runners and other sports is Fetcheveryone. It includes training logs, training analysis, discussion forums, blogs, photo galleries, route mapping (see below as well) and no doubt more besides. Several Striders are active members (as you'll see from Fetch tops appearing in our photos) and we even now have members who came to us via Fetch.
A training log site aimed at orienteers but used by more general runners, as well as catering for other sports, is Attackpoint.
Route mapping sites
There are numerous route mapping sites out there. Many are based on Googlemaps or OpenStreetMap. Most allow routes to be drawn and downloaded to GPS units. Most also allow GPS logs to be uploaded and displayed. Others integrate with photo sites and social networking sites. Here's a list of just a few.
Members' personal running pages
If you have a personal website, blog or training log dedicated to or even just tangential to your running then do let us know.
